FrSky FAS100 ADV Current Sensor

The FrSky FAS100 ADV is a telemetry current sensor for medium-to-large electric RC aircraft. Capable of measuring up to 100A of current and voltage up to 14S LiPo, it streams live power data to your transmitter via FBUS or S.Port, for monitoring battery current and voltage during operation.

FrSky ADVANCE (ADV) series has comprehensive sensor types and enhanced the performance and capability of the original sensor line. All ADV sensors fully support FBUS protocol and are also S.Port compatible. The receiver's telemetry port must support and be configured for FBUS or S.Port.

The FAS100 ADV measures current (maximum 100A) and voltage (up to 14S) when connected in series between your battery pack and ESC. The sensor measures current and voltage; compatible transmitter software may calculate power (watts) and display telemetry or alerts when configured correctly.

Manufacturer specifications: 0–100A measurement range; 100A maximum safe current (150A peak rating, with no peak-duration specified); up to 14S battery voltage; 65 × 23 × 18 mm; 30g; 16mA at 5V; XT90 anti-spark connectors; two TEMS temperature inputs shown in the manufacturer's wiring diagram.

Why We Recommend This

The FAS100 ADV is our mid-range recommendation for electric aircraft with large battery packs — Use it for electric systems within the 100A maximum safe current rating and 14S battery-voltage limit. The manufacturer specifies XT90 anti-spark connectors and FBUS or S.Port telemetry. FPV Builds RC provides U.S.-based product support, sensor-selection assistance, and setup guidance for FrSky products purchased through our store.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the FrSky FAS100 ADV used for?
The FAS100 ADV is a current and voltage telemetry sensor for electric RC aircraft. It monitors up to 100A of current and up to 14S LiPo voltage in real time, sending live power data to your FrSky transmitter via FBUS or S.Port. It mounts in series between the battery and ESC on most electric airplanes, gliders, and larger multirotors.

FAS40 vs FAS100 vs FAS150 — which do I need?
Match the sensor to your aircraft's peak current draw. The FAS40 ADV is designed for small sport electrics drawing up to 40A. The FAS100 ADV covers most large electric aircraft and jets drawing up to 100A. The FAS150 ADV is an alternative for higher-current electric systems measuring up to 150A. Which FrSky receivers work with the FAS100 ADV?
The FAS100 ADV supports FBUS and S.Port telemetry, but you must verify the exact receiver's available telemetry port, firmware and configuration. Receiver family names alone do not guarantee compatibility. Browse receivers at https://www.fpvbuildsrc.com/frsky-receivers.

How do I wire the FAS100 ADV into my aircraft?
Connect the FAS100 ADV's XT90 BAT and ESC connectors inline between the battery and ESC, preserving correct polarity and the indicated BAT/ESC direction. Connect its telemetry lead to a receiver port configured for FBUS or S.Port. Follow FrSky's FAS100 ADV wiring diagram.

How does FAS100 telemetry display in ETHOS?
When a compatible receiver is configured for FBUS or S.Port, the sensor provides current and voltage telemetry; calculated power and display widgets depend on transmitter software. You can add them to your home screen widgets and configure audio alerts for low voltage thresholds to protect your battery pack.

Is the FAS100 ADV compatible with S.Port receivers?
Yes. The FAS100 ADV supports FBUS and S.Port. A legacy receiver such as the X8R may use S.Port when its firmware, receiver port and transmitter support the appropriate telemetry setup. Confirm the specific model and configuration.

Does FPV Builds RC offer support for the FAS100 ADV?
Yes. Our team can assist with wiring, receiver compatibility, and ETHOS telemetry screen configuration. FPV Builds RC is a U.S.-based FrSky dealer. Browse all FrSky sensors at https://www.fpvbuildsrc.com/frsky-sensors.
