FrSky TW SR10 Receiver
Flying fixed-wing with confidence means knowing your radio link won't let you down over a crowded field or on a long cross-country stretch. The TW SR10 pairs TWIN protocol's two simultaneous 2.4 GHz links with a full-featured ADV Stabilizer — giving you RF redundancy, built-in stabilization, precision telemetry, and complete FBUS integration in a 9.4 g package. The FrSky TWIN (TW) protocol runs two independent 2.4 GHz frequency bands simultaneously in an active-active architecture. Both bands carry your control signal at the same time — there is no standby band waiting to take over. Interference on one frequency does not cause a glitch; the second link is already live. Three onboard 2.4 GHz antennas reinforce that resilience further.
ADV Stabilizer
The TW SR10 goes beyond a basic S-series gyro receiver. Classic modes — Stabilization, Auto-Level, Hover, and Knife-Edge — are enhanced with 5 additional stabilization channels and per-pin flight-mode mapping. Advanced mode unlocks fully configurable output pins, stab file sharing, programmable parameters, and developer-level access. Built-in high-precision altitude and vertical speed sensors feed live telemetry to the transmitter, and a basic black-box function logs flight data onboard.
Compatible Transmitters
The TW SR10 works with any FrSky transmitter or RF module supporting TWIN (TW) protocol: FrSky Tandem X20RS, X20R, X18RS, TWIN X14, TWIN X14S, TWIN X-Lite S, and the TWIN Lite Pro RF module. Browse FrSky transmitters at https://www.fpvbuildsrc.com/frsky-transmitters
Why We Recommend the FrSky TW SR10
For fixed-wing pilots who want gyro stabilization without adding a separate flight controller, the TW SR10 is the logical upgrade from the TW R10. Per-pin flight-mode mapping, black-box logging, and live altitude telemetry make it a complete onboard system. The active-active TWIN RF architecture means both 2.4 GHz channels are carrying control data simultaneously — not on standby. At 9.4 g it fits any sport, trainer, or scale build. FPV Builds RC is a U.S.-based FrSky dealer — our team can assist with ETHOS setup, firmware, and ADV Stabilizer configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions — FrSky TW SR10What transmitters are compatible with the FrSky TW SR10?
The TW SR10 uses the TWIN (TW) protocol — two simultaneous 2.4 GHz channels, active-active. Compatible transmitters include the FrSky Tandem X20RS, X20R, X18RS, TWIN X14, TWIN X14S, and TWIN X-Lite S. The TWIN Lite Pro RF module also enables TW protocol on any compatible external-module transmitter. Browse our full FrSky transmitter lineup at https://www.fpvbuildsrc.com/frsky-transmitters
What is the difference between TW (TWIN) and TD (Tandem) protocol?
TWIN (TW) uses two simultaneous 2.4 GHz bands — both active at the same time. Tandem (TD) uses one 2.4 GHz band and one 900 MHz band simultaneously. TW excels where 2.4 GHz interference is the main concern; TD adds 900 MHz penetration for longer range. The TW SR10 is strictly TWIN — it does not support Tandem, ACCESS, or ACCST. What is the ADV Stabilizer and how does it differ from a standard S-series receiver?
The ADV Stabilizer is an upgraded gyro system. Classic modes (Stabilization, Auto-Level, Hover, Knife-Edge) gain 5 additional stabilizable channels and per-pin flight-mode mapping. Advanced mode makes all 10 output pins configurable for stabilization, enables stab file sharing, exposes programmable parameters, and adds developer-level access — plus built-in altitude/vertical-speed telemetry and a basic black-box recorder not found on standard S-series receivers.
How do I bind the TW SR10 and set up the ADV Stabilizer in ETHOS?
Enter binding mode on the TW SR10, then go to Model Setup on your ETHOS transmitter, select the TW RF module, and initiate binding. After binding, download the TW SR10 Lua script from the FrSky download page, install via ETHOS Suite, and assign a 3-position switch to the stabilization mode channel. Set CP1 or another port to FBUS mode for bidirectional servo and sensor communication. Calibrate the gyro level, configure per-channel stabilization modes, and trim gains at the field.
Does the TW SR10 support FBUS, and what devices can I connect?
Yes. Each of the 10 channel ports can be individually assigned to FBUS mode in ETHOS, carrying control signals and telemetry on one wire per device. This works with FrSky XACT servos, ADV sensors, and any other FBUS-compatible device. CP1 also supports SBUS IN for signal redundancy when daisy-chaining a second receiver as a backup link. What telemetry does the TW SR10 support?
Built-in high-precision sensors report altitude and vertical speed as live telemetry — no external variometer needed for basic altitude awareness. The AIN port accepts external battery voltage (0–35 V, 1:10 divider). Additional ADV sensors (GPS ADV, VARI ADV, FAS current sensors) can be added via FBUS. Browse compatible sensors at https://www.fpvbuildsrc.com/frsky-sensors
Does the TW SR10 support OTA firmware updates?
Yes. OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates are supported through a compatible TWIN-protocol transmitter running ETHOS — no USB programmer required. FrSky periodically releases receiver firmware updates through ETHOS Suite and the FrSky download page.
